Richard E. Mummey, 57 ,of Cincinnati, OH died at 4:05 AM, on Saturday, December 6, 2003 at Mercy Franciscan Hospital Mt. Airy in Cincinnati, OH following a long illness. He was born on Thursday, June 20, 1946, in Zanesville, OH the son of James W. and Mary E. (Seigrist) Mummey. He was married to Nina May (Wilson) Mummey on 07/21/1991. Mr. Mummey retired from Brockway Glass Company. He had also woked at Goodwill Industries, Waffell Houses at many areas. He enjoyed cooking, was a devoted sports fan of the Cincinnati Bengals, Cincinnati Reds and Ohio State Football and NASCAR fan. He loved playing jokes on people and stayed as active as he could even thru his illness. He served in the Navy during the Vietnam War Era. In addition to his wife he is survived by one daughter Melissa Mummey of Nashport, two sons Daniel A. Mummey of Zanesville and Thomas F. Mummey of Zanesville. Two step-sons Scott E. (Traci) Wilson and Shawn M. (Amanda) Byrne both of Cincinnati. One step-daughter Mary C. (Bobby) Pouder of Cincinnati. Two grandchildren Aubrey Lyons, Wesley Mummey, Three step grandchildren Michael Byrne, Andrew Byrne and Jewel Byrne. One brother David (Lu) Mummey Sr. of Nashport, two sisters Patty Gatten of Newark and Rose M. (Steve) Lewis of Newark. Numerous Neices and Newphews. Preceded in death in addition to his parents one step-granddaughter Parepa Pouder. Friends may call 6-8 Monday at the Hillis & Hardwick Funeral Home 935 Forest Ave. Service will be held at Hillis & Hardwick Funeral Home on Tuesday, December 9, 2003 at 1:30 pm. with Dr. Dennis J.
