Charles Henry Mummey

Charles H. Mummy was born in El Dara, Aug. 22, 1891 and died at Quincy, Nov. 10, 1918, after a brief illness, at the age of 27 years, 2 months, and 18 days. He had lived in this community all his life, having moved to Quincy on Nov. 5, intending to make his home there. He was married in June 1915 to Miss Rosa Bixby and two children came to bless their home. Four years ago he united with the Christian church at Rockport. He is survived by his wife and two children, his father and mother and aged grandmother, three brothers are deceased. The wife and children were not able to leave their home in Quincy to attend the funeral because they were ill with influenza. The burial was in the Taylor-Martin Cemetery Wednesday, in charge was Rev. J.D. Dabney and Rev. A.E. Thomas.
