Two male Rose-breasted Grosbeaks are shown on the sunflower feeder. The males usually arrive a few days before the females. Normally they move on north, but these have been in the neighborhood for about a week.
The male Grosbeaks are spectacular with their bright red, black, and white markings.
The females Grosbeaks look nothing like the males. They follow the males north. However, we are seeing at least two pairs of Grosbeaks and have hope they may stay in Indiana to breed this summer.
