Waterfowl

The low water level in Killbuck Creek makes it easier for this Great Blue Heron to find fish to eat.

Another Great Blue moves slowly through the Killbuck Wetlands on a hot July day.

Two Canada Goose goslings rest in the grass of the Killbuck Wetlands while their parents groom themselves.

The mother Wood Duck (below, right) leads her seven ducklings to a sheltered bay in the wetlands. It's unusual for so many Wood Ducklings to survive to this age.

Here the mother leads her charges into thick cover. Wood Ducks are one of the most reclusive breeds of waterfowl and they hate to be seen, especially by humans.
