This is a juvenile male Mallard Duck. It is just growing in its adult feathers and looks rather motley at the moment.

Here is something we've never before seen in decades of watching birds. These Canada Geese were giving themselves a bath and grooming their feathers. One goose turned itself completely upside-down in the water, several times. It seemed to be trying to wet its back. Did it have an itch it couldn't reach? We don't know, but this went on for several minutes.
