The Tall Bellflower really is a tall, skinny, plant. It has a long stem that bears both leaves and blossoms without benefit of branches.
Chicory is a slightly lower plant. The flowers grow on stems while the leaves close to the ground resemble those of dandelions.
The wild Morning Glory is a vine plant. Uncontrolled, it can strangle crops on farms and in gardens. The blossoms have a shape like the bell of a horn.
Even trees put out blossoms. Most bloom in the spring but this one, near the Killbuck Wetlands, was blooming in July.
