Notes:

The Ball Special was the widemouth version of the Ball Mason jar. It had glass threads and original was fitted with a zinc cap and rubber ring, sealing on the shoulder. Later, it would be found with glass lid/zinc band and metal lid/metal band fittings.

Sometimes the words “Made in U.S.A” are embossed on the jar

The Ball Special jars were replaced by the Ball Special Widemouth jars around 1940.
