Notes:

One 1913 advertisement for this lightning-closure jar has been found, thus providing the date estimate. The jar was used to test different types of dimples to hold the wire bail, as a number of varieties are known to exist. The jar was never listed in any of Ball’s product line literature.

All jars were likely made around the same time. Any jar with this embossing should be carefully examined for a dimple variation.
