Ball Refrigerator and Freezer Jar, logo 4 1952-1956

Notes:

These tapered jars with grippers and stippled embossing replaced the Ball Freezer Jar starting about 1952. They came in three sizes, 8, 16 and 24 ounce. The two larger sizes were advertised and took widemouth lids.

The 8 ounce (half-pint) jars took a 63 mm lid, and are extremely rare.

The jars took either the standard Dome lid, or the zinc Ball Freezer Jar cap for freezing use only.

The Refrigerator and Freezer Jars were replaced by similar jars that just said “Ball” around 1955.
