Notes:

These jars, square with a regular-size mouth opening and a lightning finish, appear on a 1922 pamphlet. They can have either the dimple or the full-wire design of the lightning finish, and the McDonnell patent date of 7-14-08 sometimes is found on the base of both versions. All jars will have Logo 3. By 1930, square Ball Ideal jars had replaced the square Ball Eclipse in the product line. However, the name continued with the Ball Eclipse Widemouth jars.
