Notes:
The early jars were
among the first made by machine. Jars with off-set seams through the threads
were made on the F. C. Ball patented machine, the in-line seam jars were made
on the Ball-Bingham machine patented in 1906.
The modern tapered jars
replaced the Ball Refrigerator and Freezer jars.
There are a few other
jars with just the word “Ball.” Circa
1957, a tapered quarter-pint jar was made for a child’s jellymaking kit. Several jelly jars with the ‘Quilted Crystal’
have just the word ‘Ball.’
